The level of support from the United States will determine the number of European partners who will be able to send their military contingent to deploy in Ukraine.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference after a meeting in Paris of the leaders of the countries on support for Ukraine and security in Europe, Ukrinform reports.

“Firstly, we would like to work together with the United States of America to ensure that these security guarantees are provided by both Europe and the United States, and I constantly emphasize this. The number of European partners also depends on the presence of the United States. We will have a larger contingent if the United States supports us,” he said.

At the same time, Zelensky noted that “we have not yet discussed the issue of sending a contingent with the United States.”

“It is important for me, and I discussed this with President Trump, I told him that air defense systems are important for us, but not a one-time solution, but a permanent system of total, fully one hundred percent protection of the Ukrainian sky. We are talking about a high-quality and quantitative component, primarily consisting of Patriot, NASAMS, and other systems. And such a presence of the United States is very important,” Zelensky emphasized.

He added that the involvement of the air fleet of international partners is also important.

“We have discussed this with our European colleagues, but as for the United States, we have not yet raised this issue with them in detail,” Zelensky said.

As Ukrinform previously reported, French President Emmanuel Macron said at a press conference after the summit in Paris that a French-British group of military officers would go to Ukraine to work out the format of training for the Ukrainian army in the future.
