Ukraine already developed position on minerals agreement – Sybiha
This was stated by Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha in a commentary to Ukrinform.
"The Ukrainian side will finalize the composition of the negotiating team, which will soon travel to Washington to discuss the draft agreement proposed by the United States. We have already developed our position and vision for the text of the future agreement," he stated.
Sybiha stressed that the agreement must be mutually beneficial, align with the interests of both parties, and remain consistent with Ukraine's commitment to European integration.
"This is a key principle for the Ukrainian side," he emphasized.
The Foreign Affairs Minister also announced that a leading law firm will be selected to support the negotiation process. The delegation to Washington will include a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he added.
As previously reported, Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated that Ukraine would send a delegation to Washington this week to continue negotiations on a new mineral resources agreement.
