Ukrainians participate in charity fair in Ankara
The Ukrainian booth at the fair was presented by representatives of the Ukrainian community in Ankara, diplomats and their wives, employees of the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey, invited masters and companies from Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We have taken part in this fair in Ankara for the third year in a row. We are presenting our culture, art and cuisine. Such events allow us to introduce our state in an informal setting, as well as raise money for charitable purposes. It is very symbolic that we present the Ukrainian booth at the current fair, as we also did at the previous one, together with our Crimean Tatar friends," Ukraine's Ambassador to Turkey Andriy Sybiha said.
The diplomat said he was convinced that such events are an important element of cultural diplomacy, an opportunity for foreigners to get better knowledge about Ukraine.
"Of course, this fair is an important event of cultural diplomacy, along with diplomatic work, political events that are held in Turkey on a permanent basis," Sybiha said.
A similar event in Kyiv will be held at the Olympic Stadium on December 8. Forty-five embassies will take part in the fair this year. The organizer is the International Women's Club of Kyiv (IWCK), a non-governmental nonprofit organization founded in 1992 by women from different countries, including diplomats, representatives of cultural and business communities, the wives of diplomats and businessmen.
