Ukraine stops issuing visas at international airports

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has stopped issuing visas to foreigners at the international airports upon arrival in the country and expanded the e-visa functionality.

"Since January 1, the visas are no longer issued at the international airports, and the functionality of an electronic visa has expanded," State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andriy Zayats said in an interview with LB.ua Ukrainian online media outlet.

The number of states, whose citizens can apply for an electronic visa to enter Ukraine, and the grounds for issuance of an e-visa have been expanded since January 1, 2019.

The grounds include business, private, tourist travels as well as trips with the purpose of receiving medical treatment, taking part in the activities in field of culture, science, education, sports and performing professional duties for foreign media representatives.

To apply for an e-visa, a foreigner should fill out the online form, upload scanned copies of the necessary documents, make a payment with a bank card (MasterCard Worldwide or Visa International payment systems) and print out an e-visa sent to e-mail.

Since January 1, 2019, the e-visa fee is $85.

The citizens of Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Bahrain, Belize, Bolivia, Bhutan, Vanuatu, Haiti, Guatemala, Honduras, Grenada, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Indonesia, Cambodia, Kiribati, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Kuwait, Laos, Mauritius, Malaysia, the Maldives, Mexico, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Oman, Palau, Peru, Salvador, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Singapore, the Solomon Islands, Suriname, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Fiji and Jamaica can apply for e-visas to enter Ukraine.

The Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has been issuing the e-visas for entry into Ukraine since April 2018.

While citing and using any materials on the Internet, links to the website ukrinform.net not lower than the first paragraph are mandatory. In addition, citing the translated materials of foreign media outlets is possible only if there is a link to the website ukrinform.net and the website of a foreign media outlet. Materials marked as "Advertisement" or with a disclaimer reading "The material has been posted in accordance with Part 3 of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Advertising" No. 270/96-VR of July 3, 1996 and the Law of Ukraine "On the Media" No. 2849-Х of March 31, 2023 and on the basis of an agreement/invoice.
