Kyiv to inform UN, CoE, OSCE about detention of Archbishop Klyment

"We are concerned about reports of the detention of Archbishop of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Klyment in Russian-occupied Russia. Russian invaders continue their systematic offensive on Ukrainian Orthodoxy in Crimea," reads the statement.

She also emphasized the "actual harassment of religious freedoms and rights of believers" in the territories occupied by Russia.

"We will draw the attention of the UN, the CoE and the OSCE to the detention of Archbishop Klyment," Zelenko said.

Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea Klyment had to leave on March 3 for a meeting with Ukrainian political prisoner Pavlo Hryb in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don. Russian law enforcers detained him at a central bus station in Simferopol and took him to the police station.

Later, Russian lawyer Nikolai Polozov wrote on Facebook that Klyment had been released without any charges.
