The Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church fundamentally supports Ukrainian autocephaly, according to an official statement of the Chancellery of the Council of Bishops.

"On behalf of the Council of Bishops of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church, in response to letters in the case of the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, we clearly inform that the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church supported and supports the recognition of complete autonomy - autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine," the statement reads.

The chancellery also adds that "the provision of autocephaly should be done in accordance with dogmatic and canonical norms in relation to the whole church, not a group of schismatics."

According to the report, the Polish Orthodox Church is cooperating with other local churches in order to resolve the church issue in Ukraine.

On January 5, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed a tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. On January 6, the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Istanbul hosted a tomos handover ceremony and a divine liturgy that was concelebrated by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius.
