Ukraine’s Health Ministry, U.S. Department of Health preparing memorandum of cooperation

This was discussed during the meeting of Ukrainian Health Minister Ulana Suprun and U.S. Secretary of Health Alex Azar in Washington D.C. on Thursday, the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States reports.

"The issues of bilateral cooperation and, in particular, the prospects for concluding a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the United States Department of Health, were discussed. The memorandum is expected to provide additional grounds for expanding cooperation on treatment and prevention of cancer, clinical and scientific research in the field of oncology, in matters of general immunization and HPV vaccination," the Ukrainian diplomatic mission noted.

In addition, Ulana Suprun briefed the American colleagues on the progress of medical reform in Ukraine, measures to control the epidemiological situation in the country, as well as the current problems of the social and medical sphere.

Secretary Alex Azar expressed support for the reforms in the medical sphere in Ukraine. In addition, he underlined the willingness of the American side to provide counseling and methodological assistance.
