Two missions of the World Health Organization (WHO) will visit Ukraine soon, according to acting Director General of the Public Health Center of the Ukrainian Health Ministry, Ihor Kuzin.

"We are expecting two main missions of the World Health Organization. One will be aimed at working out the state preparedness plan, and this mission will begin tomorrow and will last until Saturday inclusive [March 7]. Also, we expect the mission for laboratory diagnostics next week to increase diagnostic methods as much as possible at the level of each region,” he said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

Kuzin has also added that a special training for infectious disease specialists is currently underway, which is being conducted jointly with UNICEF.

As reported, on March 3, the first case of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 was confirmed in Ukraine. The man in Chernivtsi city was diagnosed with coronavirus after returning from Italy with his wife.
