Kryklii: Evacuation of Ukrainians prepared from Poland, Czech Republic and Germany
"We will return citizens from the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland. We now discuss the organization of special transportation to return our citizens, including by rail," Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii said at a briefing on March 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
He added that special flights will also be organized for the evacuation of citizens from mentioned countries.
Ukraine's ambassador to Poland Andriy Deshchytsia said earlier that nearly two thousand Ukrainians were waiting for the evacuation from Poland. According to him, Ukrainian diplomats are in talks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland on the organization of the so-called sanitary corridor.
Since March 16, the entry of foreigners into Ukraine has been restricted. The operation of about a hundred border crossing points was suspended, the restrictions were introduced at the entry-exit checkpoint in the Joint Forces Operation area in eastern Ukraine and on the administrative border with the occupied Crimea.
In addition, the Government of Ukraine temporarily restricted passenger transport services in the territory of Ukraine to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
