Ukraine, Algeria aim to intensify partnership in tourism sector
This was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador of Ukraine to Algeria Maksym Subkh and newly appointed Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Family Labour of Algeria Mohammed Hamidou, the press service of the Embassy of Ukraine in Algeria informs.
During the meeting, the Algerian minister was informed, in particular, about the list of international tourism events planned in Ukraine for 2021 after the normalization of the epidemiological situation.
In this context, the Ambassador expressed hope for the participation of the Algerian ministerial and business delegations in the Ukraine International Travel and Tourism Exhibition which is planned to be held in Kyiv late March 2021.
"The Algerian minister expressed interest in sending a plenipotentiary delegation to attend the above-mentioned event and reaffirmed his commitment to involve Ukrainian companies operating in the hotel and recreation business in the implementation of relevant projects on the development of tourism infrastructure in Algeria. In addition, the minister expressed the interest in concluding an intergovernmental agreement with Ukraine on cooperation in the field of tourism and traditional crafts as soon as possible, which is currently being elaborated by the parties," the statement reads.
According to Hamidou, the existence of such an agreement will allow the parties to most effectively implement a number of plans and projects in the tourism sector, particularly, the maritime, Saharan, medical and ecological tourism, holding days of Algeria in Ukraine and days of Ukraine in Algeria, as well as professional training and education of Algerian specialists in Ukrainian hotels and restaurants, etc.
