Ukrainian delegation discuss situation in the east, fight against COVID-19 pandemic in Israel
The delegation consisted of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, Deputy Head of the President’s Office Ihor Zhovkva, and Deputy Minister of Health - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko, the press service of the Head of State informs.
During the visit, they met with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, National Security Adviser and Head of the National Security Council Meir Ben-Shabbat, Israeli Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, Political Director, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel Alon Bar and Deputy Minister of Health of Israel Yoav Kisch.
“The participants discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular cooperation in the field of trade and investment. The parties agreed to continue cooperation between Ukraine and Israel in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic,” reads the statement.
The parties also discussed possible cooperation in the production of vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccines, and exchanged experience in organizing vaccination with vaccines that require ultra-low storage temperatures. In addition, the parties discussed professional epidemiological issues to facilitate the crossing of borders between the states and the already started preparations for the celebration of Rosh Hashanah.
In addition, particular attention was paid to countering Russian aggression and the situation in eastern Ukraine. The Israeli side stressed the unwavering support for Ukraine in the pursuit of peace and the preservation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
The parties agreed to maintain the current dynamics of contacts at the highest level during the year.
