Shmyhal calls on churches to comply with quarantine rules during worship services
He said this at a meeting with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, according to the Ukrainian government's website.
"Holidays are a joy, and it is important that this joy is not overshadowed by a spike in morbidity. We appreciate that representatives of religious organizations are doing everything to comply with quarantine rules. For its part, the government will continue to make every effort to make the state policy in the field of religion effective, efficient and aimed at the realization of the respective rights and freedoms of citizens," Shmyhal said.
He stressed the need for all religious organizations to observe COVID-19 restrictions and recommendations on holding worship services, religious rites, and ceremonies.
Shmyhal also thanked representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations for understanding and supporting temporary restrictions on their activities, as well as for their position on the importance of the COVID-19 vaccination process.
"We are grateful to representatives of religious organizations for joining the campaign to promote the vaccination process through their own example of vaccination," Shmyhal said.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, which is the main partner of government agencies in communication with religious organizations.
