Ukraine expects to receive 7.7M doses of vaccine in July – chief state sanitary doctor
He said this during a panel discussion "Why Ukrainians Don't Want to Get Vaccinated: Let's Talk to Officials and Doctors" on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"In total, about 7.7 million doses of vaccine are planned to be delivered to the country in July," Kuzin said.
He noted that the CoronaVac vaccine produced by Chinese company Sinovac Biotech is to arrive next month under the contract. “As for Sinovac, we have signed commitments and it is planned that 5.325 million doses of the vaccine will be purchased by Crown Agents,” Kuzin commented.
He stressed that due to the high expected supply of vaccines in July, negotiations are underway to postpone the supply of CoronaVac under a new contract.
In addition, the deputy minister said that Ukraine is negotiating the purchase of vaccines with Johnson & Johnson.
As reported, over the past day, 53,786 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Ukraine. In particular, 22,526 people got their first jab, and 31,260 people were fully vaccinated.
Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, which started on February 24, 1,755,139 people have been vaccinated, of which 394,107 people have received two doses.
Ukraine recorded 835 new COVID-19 cases on June 22.
