Ukraine to receive another 13 mln doses of COVID vaccine by fall – PM Shmyhal
That’s according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal who spoke at a government meeting on Wednesday, Ukrinform reports.
“Ukraine has reached agreements on the supply by the end of summer of 13 million doses of vaccines. That is, we have the required number of vaccines for everyone,” Shmyhal said.
Currently in Ukraine, the inoculation campaign for COVID-19 employs four vaccines: AstraZeneca (Covishield, SKBio), Comirnaty (Pfizer/BioNTech), CoronaVac (Sinovac Biotech), and Moderna.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukrainian government on July 21 launched the fifth stage of the vaccination campaign for COVID-19, offering jabs to anyone aged 18 and over.
On July 18, a total of 2 million doses of the U.S.-produced Moderna vaccine arrived in Ukraine. The bulk was provided to Ukraine as part of the global COVAX Facility.
As of July 21, a total of 2,778,377 people underwent vaccination in Ukraine, of whom 1,501,291 received both doses.
