Over 129,000 people get COVID-19 shots in Ukraine on Aug 19

A total of 129,027 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Ukraine on Thursday, August 19, the Ukrainian Health Ministry has reported on Facebook.

"As many as 129,027 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on August 19, 2021. Some 57,497 people received their first dose, and 71,530 people were fully vaccinated," the report reads.

According to the ministry, 870 mobile vaccination teams, 2,759 vaccination sites, and 326 vaccination centres were operating across the country in the past day.

A total of 7,952,028 doses have been administered in Ukraine since it launched a vaccination campaign, with 4,971,750 people receiving their first dose and 2,980,278 people receiving both doses (two people received their first dose abroad).

Some 120,004 people received COVID-19 jabs in Ukraine on August 18.
