Kyiv will not close kindergartens, primary schools in event of new COVID-19 wave - Klitschko

"Given previous experience, in the event of the next wave of the pandemic, the city does not plan to close kindergartens and primary schools for quarantine," Kyiv City State Administration's press service quoted him as saying.

Klitschko said that today half of educators in the Ukrainian capital had already been vaccinated.

"A large-scale vaccination program for all residents of Kyiv and educators has been underway in the capital since April. Educators are a priority group of protection. That is why 17 vaccination points are operating in Kyiv, where employees of schools, kindergartens, and other educational institutions of the city get vaccinated," Klitschko said.

Klitschko said that the field of education is very important to the capital and is a priority. Funding for the industry has increased by almost five times over the past seven years, from UAH 5 billion in 2014 to almost UAH 25 billion this year, Klitschko said.
