Ukraine gets almost $36M to fight HIV, TB and malaria
Ukrinform reports this with a reference to the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Health.
“Due to the joint work of experts, representatives of the main recipients, all interested non-governmental organizations and government agencies and in coordination of the Ministry of Health with the National Council on TB and HIV/AIDS, the country managed to receive a grant from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The grant will be used to address the priority needs in the fight against coronavirus disease, the fight against HIV and tuberculosis, and remove barriers to health services caused by this pandemic,” Deputy Minister of Health – Chief State Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin said.
It is noted that Ukraine will use the grant funds to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE), organize measures to reduce the risks associated with COVID-19, for the programs to combat HIV and tuberculosis, as well as increase coverage of measures to strengthen the healthcare system, such as national laboratory networks, supply chains, etc.
