Medical guarantee program increased by UAH 33.8B – Liashko

Ukraine’s Program of Medical Guarantees has been increased by UAH 33.8 billion, which will make it possible to significantly raise the salaries of health workers starting from January 1, 2022.

Minister of Health Viktor Liashko said this in an interview with Radio Svoboda, Ukrinform reports.

"As the Minister of Health, I managed to increase the Program of Medical Guarantees by at least UAH 33.8 billion. This will increase the salaries of health workers: UAH 13,500 - for a nurse, UAH 20,000 - for a doctor. This is the basic level from which all other allowances for medical workers will be accrued. We are doing everything to make it happen from January 1, 2022,” Liashko said.

According to him, the program of medical guarantees should cover all the needs of the basic level to receive medical care free of charge.

The minister also added that the renewal of infrastructure and technical equipment of Ukrainian hospitals is currently underway.
