Government sending monitoring group to regions to address COVID issues

The Cabinet of Ministers will send a group to the regions to monitor the organization of measures by local authorities to combat COVID-19, the press service of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development has reported.

According to the report, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov said this after a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations.

"The urgent issues we have today are strengthening epidemic safety measures in the regions, moving some regions to a red level of epidemic danger, increasing vaccination rates and resuming the work of the group that will monitor the situation on the ground to address COVID-19 issues," Chernyshov said.

He said the monitoring group will coordinate the regions in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Its participants will monitor the situation on the ground to respond to the current problems and challenges associated with the pandemic. The group will include specialists from the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the Interior Ministry, the Health Ministry and the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
