Health Ministry expects to implement COVID-19 vaccination plan by year-end

"Vaccination rates have significantly grown over the last week. We hope that we will be able to do everything possible to meet the indicators of the national vaccination plan by the end of this year,” the chief state sanitary doctor said at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to Kuzin, more than 1 million doses of Comirnaty vaccine from Pfizer are now available in Ukraine, the Ministry of Health expects that under the signed contracts, Ukraine will receive another 13.5 million doses by the end of this year.

As Ukrinform reported, on July 28, the Cabinet of Ministers approved amendments to the national plan on the vaccination against COVID-19.

According to the document, the minimum number of vaccination shots is set at 6 million in August, 8.2 million in September, 8.5 million in October, 8.5 million in November, and 8.5 million in December. By the end of this year, it is planned to vaccinate most of the adult population to form collective immunity.

As of October 25, 15,955,360 doses have been administered in Ukraine since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, with 8,965,692 people receiving their first dose and 6,989,668 people receiving both doses (two people received their first dose abroad).
