Ukraine to receive another 13.5M doses of Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19 before year-end, PM says
That’s according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal who spoke at a briefing during a working trip to Donetsk region on Wednesday, October 27, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"By the end of the year, another 13.5 million doses of Pfizer (vaccines - ed.) will arrive. All regions, all vaccination centers and vaccination points have been provided with vaccines," Shmyhal said.
The head of government stressed there is a sufficient number of vaccine doses across Ukraine, noting that 95% of those hospitalized with COVID-19 have not received their jab.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, by the end of the year, 18,850,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine are expected to be delivered to Ukraine under state contracts and within the framework of the global COVAX facility.
It was also reported, with reference to the country’s health ministry, that a total of 9,363,493 people have been vaccinated since the launch of the inoculation campaign, of whom 9,363,491 received a single dose and 7,138,082 were fully immunized.
Over the past 24 hours, 291,293 people have been vaccinated for COVID-19, including 212,013 with the first dose and 79,280 – with their second.
