Heavy trucks banned from entering Kyiv amid adverse weather conditions

On Wednesday, December 22, in order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of snow plowers, the entry of heavy trucks to Kyiv was restricted from 07:00 to 10:00.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service, according to Ukrinform.

"As per the minutes of the meeting of the emergencies commission at the Kyiv City State Administration, in order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of special equipment to ease traffic, restrictions are imposed on the entry of trucks into Kyiv from 07:00 to 10:00 on December 22," the statement reads.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, no significant precipitation is expected in Kyiv and across the region on December 22. The iced roads warning remains in place. Winds at 5-10 mps are expected. Air temperature in the capital will stay within -6-8°C in Kyiv and -4-9°C across the region.

More than 4,500 utility workers and 222 vehicles are engaged in clearing roads of snow and ice.
