UKRAINE. Food & History book nominated for prestigious international award
The book highlighting culinary traditions of each region of Ukraine received nominations in the categories "Culinary History" and "Eastern Europe".
According to the Ukrainian Institute, which co-published the book with the їzhakultura (food culture) project, the probability of getting on the Gourmand Awards list is only 1%.
Launched in 1995, the award selects the best books on food and drink culture around the world.
UKRAINE. Food & History book features recipes of popular and unusual dishes of Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar cuisine, history, and stories about the culture of food and hospitality in Ukraine. A team of chefs and researchers of gastronomic studios from different regions across Ukraine worked on the book.
UKRAINE. Food & History is the first edition to present the diversity of Ukrainian cuisine in the regional, national, and taste dimensions.
The book is published in Ukrainian and English. The electronic version of the book is available on the website of the Ukrainian Institute.
The їzhakultura project aims to develop and promote research on food culture in Ukraine.
