President: Apple-backed census will be conducted in 2023

"We plan to conduct a census jointly with Apple in 2023. We develop a model of electronic customs. We strive to make Ukraine a global IT hub, a leader in innovation and technology," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at the Diia Summit, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, this no longer sounds as fantastic as it sounded before. The Government is currently working to develop the digital services that people need.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Apple signed a memorandum of cooperation, which provides, in particular, for assistance in conducting a census in Ukraine. Thus, Ukraine may follow the United States into conducting such a census in cooperation with Apple.

The team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation will present more than 10 new digital services at the Diia Summit. Among them: change in place of registration, services for pensioners and drivers, new notifications in Diia app, updated Diia.Signature. A special tax regime for the IT industry, Diia.City and other digital projects and initiatives will also be presented.

The event is attended by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, teams of Diia and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, international guests.
