Ukraine asks EU to ban Russian TV channels
Tkachenko has announced the initiative via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
Addressing the European Commissioner, the Ukrainian Minister asked:
To impose sanctions on all Russian TV channels which are broadcasting by satellites or any other technology, and ban their broadcasting on the EU territory and
To recommend providers to broadcast united Ukrainian TV channels UA together marathon, which is available in English.
He has called for an active involvement on the part of the EU in fighting against Russian disinformation. Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to block Russia's information propaganda in Europe, Tkachenko added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Tkachenko stated that the Kremlin's mouthpieces are facing maximum resistance on the part of both Ukraine and its allies, despite attempts to misinform the world.
He reminded that on the very first day of the war in Ukraine, a nationwide telethon was co-organized by all leading Ukrainian TV channels. Also, by the joint efforts of the national media group, a channel broadcasting in Russian, called FREEDOM, was created, broadcasting 24/7.
On February 24, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying infrastructure and residential areas, employing artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles.
