‘I will return’: First Lady Zelenska shares video of Ukrainians in Poland
The relevant statement was made by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Zelenska posted a short video of the Ukrainian citizens who have fled to Poland to escape the war.
“‘I will return’. These words are repeated by each Ukrainian who has been forced to leave their home. I will return to my school. To my cup in the kitchen. To my chestnut trees. To relatives. We are unlucky to have a neighbor proving ‘fraternity’ with missile strikes and terror. But, we are extremely lucky to have another neighbor, Poland, which has become Ukraine’s closest friend not only geographically,” Zelenska stressed.
According to the First Lady of Ukraine, Poland has already sheltered about 3 million Ukrainian refugees and provided them not only with temporary accommodation but also with regular care, free medicine and education.
“We will return, because there is nothing better than home. And we will definitely invite Poles to thank them for more than just hospitality – for the real absence of borders. Thank you, friends!” Zelenska noted.
A reminder that more than 10 million Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes since the Russian invasion started, and about 5 million of them have fled abroad.
