Well-known ‘Nazi hunter’ Eli Rosenbaum was in Ukraine yesterday – Venediktova
“Rosenbaum arrived yesterday. He has 30 years of prosecutorial experience, and he is called a ‘Nazi hunter’. It is very important when people have not only professional qualities but also a backbone and good motivation," Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova told Ukrainian TV channels in an interview, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Venediktova noted that the United States would set up its own investigative team and they had a lot of opportunities for cooperation.
"The United States, like 18 other countries, has already opened its own proceedings over crimes committed in Ukraine. In addition, US citizens were injured and killed, so we have many reasons for conducting joint investigations," said the Prosecutor General.
As noted, it is very important for her that the investigation takes place here in Ukraine.
"Because I can talk as much as I want with all journalists, with human rights activists from other countries and tell what is happening in Ukraine. But when professionals from their countries come, their citizens, and work with us, gathering evidence, taking DNA samples, conducting various examinations, then I don't have to prove something 100 times. Their professionals do it all with us. That's why this diplomatic mission is very important here," Ukraine’s Prosecutor General explained.
As reported, "Nazi hunter" Eli Rosenbaum will lead the team of the US Department of Justice to identify and prosecute those guilty of war crimes in Ukraine.
