France ready to help Ukraine fight Russian propaganda - Tkachenko
The Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tkachenko, said this at a briefing entitled "Strengthening international support for culture and media in Ukraine: the results of a visit to France" at the Ukraine – Ukrinform Media Center.
"We see from the results of research by our colleagues in Europe that Russian narratives continue to spread. For this, there is not only an offline format, traditional for television, but also online platforms, OTT platforms. We will hardly do without international support and coordination from partners in the West. From what I understand, it is the French who are ready to act as leaders in matters of information security," Tkachenko said.
According to him, this would be very appropriate, given France's significant influence not only in matters of culture, but also in matters of information.
Tkachenko also noted that during his visit, an agreement was signed with the Louvre on the introduction of audio guides in Ukrainian. In addition, a Ukrainian project entitled "Ukraine. Out of blackout" about a one-thousand-year history of Ukrainian art was presented.
As reported, the ninth package of sanctions from the European Union banned broadcasting on EU territory of Russian media outlets NTV/NTV Mir, Rossiya 1, REN TV and First Channel.
