Turkey reports about death of two Ukrainians, embassy verifying information - MFA
Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UKraine, Oleh Nikolenko, said this in a Facebook post, reports Ukrinform.
"The Turkish side reported that two citizens of Ukraine probably were killed as a result of the earthquake. The embassy is currently verifying this information and taking measures to identify the victims," the spokesman wrote.
Nikolenko added that there is information about four injured Ukrainians. According to him, they suffered minor injuries. There is no threat to their lives and they do not need hospitalization. The victims are provided with temporary housing and food.
According to Nikolenko, in total, diplomats have already found 38 citizens of Ukraine and are cooperating with the Turkish rescue services to find other 19 Ukrainians who have not been in touch.
As reported, two earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6 magnitudes hit Turkey’s province of Kahramanmaras on February 6.
According to the latest data, the death toll from the earthquake in Turkey has reached 3,432, while 21,103 people have been injured.
