Leonardo DiCaprio makes contribution to Olena Zelenska Foundation
“We want to thank Leonardo DiCaprio for his recent contribution to the Olena Zelenska Foundation in supporting the people of Ukraine. His contribution is helping to support the young people whose lives have been torn apart by war,” reads the post published on the Foundation’s Facebook account.
The Foundation noted that the contribution, in particular, will help Vika from the Rodnykh family, who was diagnosed with a mental disorder. Together with seven siblings, she went through the occupation of Kherson, as well as evacuation under the muzzle of tanks and constant shelling.

It will also help eight children from the Oleshko family-type orphanage, whose house was ruined in the war and whose father is defending Ukraine on the front lines.
The contribution will also make it possible to support three-year-old Violeta from the Khanadeevs family, now living in a relatively safe Kyiv region. Almost nine years ago, her parents faced Russian aggression in Donetsk for the first time, forcing them to leave their home and never come back.
“The Foundation supports all family-type orphanages in Ukraine where kids grow up in a genuine family atmosphere and coordinates its efforts with the government so that no kids know of orphanhood. We help children to have the fullest childhood without barriers to education, healthcare, and welfare,” the statement reads.
The Olena Zelenska Foundation is a Ukrainian charitable foundation established by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. Its main goal is the restoration of Ukraine’s human capital, as well as the reconstruction of healthcare and educational institutions.
