Soldiers continue to receive bonuses during treatment after injuries - Stefanchuk
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk said this to Ukrinform.
"If military personnel are hospitalized while fulfilling a combat mission, they continue to receive their bonuses during the treatment period," the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament said.
He clarified that the bonuses are both UAH 30,000 and UAH 100,000.
Stefanchuk emphasized that the Parliament has adopted all the necessary documents to ensure payments to the military.
Recently, there have been many messages where servicemen who are undergoing treatment and cannot perform combat missions [ have the status of "limitedly fit" or "temporarily unfit" ] complain about low salaries, in particular, the amount of UAH 500-700 per month, depending on seniority and military rank.
In a collective letter, soldiers who are currently undergoing treatment called on the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to resolve this issue in the legislative field or to consider introducing legislative and regulatory changes that would allow servicemen who were wounded, injured, or contused during military service and who was recognized by the decision of the military medical commission as partially fit or temporarily unfit to voluntarily resign from military service for health reasons.
In addition, the military calls on the General Staff of the Armed Forces to extend the term of payment of financial support to servicemen who are at the disposal of the commander of a military unit for the last positions held until the moment of dismissal from military service, including for the periods that have passed.
As Ukrinform previously reported, the Parliament supported the return of payments in the amount of UAH 30,000 for military, police officers and employees of the State Emergency Service.
