Kharkiv reconstruction to be discussed at summit in Denver
Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv mayor, said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Today I am in the United States for talks with representatives of the American government. The main goal of all meetings is the reconstruction of our Kharkiv. As part of this business trip, I will visit Washington, D.C., as well as the Cities Summit [of the Americas] in Denver, which will be held for the first time at the initiative of the U.S. State Department and with the support of USAID," the message says.
Terekhov noted that the events in the United States are an opportunity to "find new ideas and approaches to recovery."
"Thank you for the invitation, as well as for your continued support of Ukraine. I am confident that together we will achieve powerful results," the mayor added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, there are 5,200 buildings in Kharkiv that have damage of varying degrees and complexity. Of these, 450 have significant damage that requires a detailed examination. Some 49 houses were leveled.
