Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska has invited First Lady Kim Keon Hee of the Republic of Korea to attend the Third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen.

Zelenska reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"I told First Lady Kim Keon Hee of the Republic of Korea about the cultural losses from the Russian attack. In her country, my colleague takes care of the preservation of cultural heritage. The Republic of Korea has extensive experience in preserving culture and art, including digitizing archives. We now hope to cooperate in preserving Ukrainian heritage from Russian barbarism," she wrote.

Zelenska noted that 1,472 cultural centers had been destroyed or damaged in Ukraine, including libraries, art schools and museums, more than 580 architectural monuments and 270 religious objects. She added that more than ten museums had been looted and thousands of works of art and historical artifacts had been lost.

Zelenska also recalled that the ecological consequences of the war could turn into a catastrophe. "And since ecology has no borders, the consequences will spread throughout the world. The occupiers have an inhuman attitude not only to our people, but also to nature and animals. Nature reserves under occupation. They kill animals for fun, as was the case in March of last year in the Kyiv region, when Russian troops purposefully bombarded hangars with horses. Most of the animals were burned alive," she added.

"Using the opportunity, I gave the president's wife an invitation to the third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen. At the previous summit, despite the air raid sirens, I and my colleagues from around the world discussed the recovery of the country. And at this point, let's talk about the mental recovery of people. How to turn war trauma into growth - we hope to hear the experience of the Republic of Korea, which once successfully implemented it itself," Zelenska said.
