Reporters Without Borders registers over 50 cases of shooting at journalists
Secretary General and Director General of Reporters Without Borders Christophe Deloire said this at a press conference in Ukrinform.
"This is a war with crimes against media, against journalists... More than 20 journalists were victims of war crimes. Journalists are targeted. More than 50 cases were registered by Reporters Without Borders of journalists who came under rifle or artillery fire. At least half of them were deliberately targeted as journalists," Deloire said.
According to Oksana Romaniuk, director of the Institute of Mass Information, a naturalist photographer Denys Kryvyi was recently killed at the front.
"Since the beginning of Russia's invasion, 10 of our colleagues have been killed while performing their professional duties, 13 were killed by shelling or a Russian missile, and the rest of our colleagues died defending us. We remember all of our colleagues and will ensure that each of these deaths is investigated and all those responsible are punished," Romaniuk said.
As reported according to IMI, Denys Kryvyi became the 58th media person who died due to Russian aggression.
