The Ministry of Health received from the Government of Canada and the Canada-Ukraine Foundation 100 portable systems for stabilizing the seriously injured during their transportation to hospitals and providing emergency medical care at the scene of the incident.

Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin announced this on Facebook, reports Ukrinform.

Kuzin noted that integrated life support units, due to their light weight (18 kg) are easy to carry. One such device replaces several stationary systems used in intensive care units.

Portable systems will be distributed between stabilization points, emergency medical teams, and disaster response units

According to him, this will allow monitoring of patients' vital functions and provide artificial lung ventilation for the wounded in difficult conditions, maintain the patient's medical indicators and prevent complications during transportation to medical facilities or during medical evacuation by air.

"As missiles destroy healthcare infrastructure, attack civilian objects, those injured and seriously injured need urgent medical care, especially during evacuation or transportation from the attack site to hospital. Therefore, portable life support systems are extremely necessary at the stage of emergency medical care and will help save lives," the chief state sanitary doctor emphasized.

He thanked international partners for their reliable support and strengthening of the Ukrainian medical front.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, 40 more ambulance vehicles, purchased by Medical Procurement SE with the funds of the United24 campaign, will be deployed across regions.
