Ombudsman: 2.598 Ukrainians returned home from captivity

A total of 2,598 Ukrainians have returned home, along with 22 Ukrainian soldiers who were released from captivity on Monday.

Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The long-awaited news is that 22 Ukrainian soldiers are home! These are the defenders of Ukraine who took part in battles in different directions. The youngest soldier is only 23 years old. There are wounded among them. The soldiers will undergo rehabilitation. So far, 2,598 Ukrainians have returned home. This is the 48th exchange that we have managed to carry out," Lubinets said.

The Ombudsman assured that our country is taking all possible steps to bring its citizens home. According to him, each repatriation is the result of hard work.

As reported, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, said that 22 Ukrainian soldiers had returned from Russian captivity.
