Paramedic Julia Payevska speaks in Norway about Russia's crimes against humanity

During a visit to Norway, Ukrainian soldier, paramedic and volunteer Julia Payevska (Taira) took part in the event "Ukraine Today: Occupied Territories and War Crimes" organised in Oslo by the Ukrainian community in Norway (Den ukrainske forening i Norge).

According to Ukrinform, this is stated on the Facebook page of the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway.

According to the report, Julia Payevska spoke from her own experience about Russia's crimes against humanity, systemic violations of international humanitarian law and rules for the treatment of prisoners of war by the Russian occupiers, and Russian propaganda and disinformation.

Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Norway Ihor Holovchenko stressed the importance of further support of Ukraine's partners in the fight against the Russian aggressor.

He thanked Julia Payevska for her extremely important mission to tell the world the truth about Russia's crimes.

Arve Hansen, a representative of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee, spoke about the work being done by the Committee to document Russia's war crimes in Ukraine and stressed their massive and targeted nature.

Julia Payevska ("Taira") is a Ukrainian servicewoman, paramedic, volunteer; commander of the Taira Angels unit and the evacuation unit of the 61st Military Mobile Hospital (2018-2020); designer, president of the Mutokukai-Ukraine Aikido Federation. Since 2014, she has participated in the Revolution of Dignity and the war in eastern Ukraine as a paramedic. On 16 March 2022, during the siege of Mariupol, she was taken prisoner by Russia and released on 17 June.
