Ukrainians in Paris rally for Ukraine's accession to NATO
About 150 people came to the event, including a Paris city deputy, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The main idea is that today it is not only in the interests of Ukraine for NATO to help us defend ourselves, it is also in the interests of NATO to invite the strongest and most combat-ready army in Europe, which is already standing guard over Europe," said Volodymyr Kohutiak, organizer of regular Ukrainian marches in the French capital and vice president of the Union of Ukrainians in France.
According to the participants of the march, after the summit in Washington, Ukraine should come decisively closer to membership in the Alliance. Recall that the 75th anniversary NATO summit will be held in Washington on July 9-11, 2024.
To this end, the Ukrainian World Congress called on its members in more than 30 countries of the world to support the idea of Ukraine's progress towards full membership in the Alliance and acceleration of military assistance.
As Ukrinform reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that he expects a decision from the NATO summit on the provision of Patriot systems to Ukraine and the adoption of new bilateral security agreements.
