Kyiv region, state of Utah sign memorandum of cooperation

Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the state of Utah (the United States) will cooperate in a number of areas, including in the development of various spheres of business, social and humanitarian projects.

Kyiv regional governor Ruslan Kravchenko announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"In the presence of President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova signed a memorandum of understanding between Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the state of Utah with Utah Governor Spencer Cox," Kravchenko wrote.

According to him, the document envisages cooperation in many areas, including the economy; energy; aerospace and defense industry; software and information technologies; agriculture; education, tourism; health and environmental protection; science and technology; art, culture and humanitarian direction.

"Cooperation between Utah and the Kyiv region has great potential for both parties. It will contribute to raising people's living standards, developing business, and implementing humanitarian and social projects," Kravchenko said.

He added that about 4,000 Ukrainians live in the state of Utah, including 2,500 refugees.

Earlier reports said that the Kyiv region and the state of Washington would create an online platform to expand economic cooperation between the regions.
