The Russian-controlled Supreme Court of Crimea has sentenced a 45-year-old resident of Kerch to 15 years in prison for alleged cooperation with Ukraine's State Security Service (SBU).
That's according to the Crimea.Realities news site, which refers to the Russian Prosecutor's Office of Crimea, Ukrinform reports.
The charges stem from allegations that in September 2023, the convicted individual used a messaging app to send the coordinates of Russian air defense positions in Kerch to the SBU.
"The transmitted data could have been used to launch strikes on the locations of Russian servicemen," the report said.
The court found the man guilty of high treason under Article 274 of the Russian Federation's Criminal Code. The name and surname of the convicted person were not disclosed. His public comments on the verdict were not provided. The SBU has not issued any comments on the case.
