Zelensky congratulates SBU on professional holiday
The head of state issued the greeting via social media, Ukrinform saw.
"Security Service of Ukraine Day – a day honoring strong individuals who deliver one of the most important results for Ukraine. During the war, the Security Service has become a combat-ready special service – one of the key elements of our Defense and Security Forces – protecting the country from internal threats and delivering important results both at the front and behind enemy lines," Zelensky said.
He thanked the SBU - each and every operative who ensures security for Ukraine being part of the agency’s ranks.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, since the outset of the full-scale war, the Security Service has exposed 102 Russian spy networks, initiated over 8,700 inquiries against enemy accomplices and more than 600 probes against perpetrators who handed the invaders sensitive data on the Ukrainian army or spotted strikes.
On March 25, 1992, the Security Service of Ukraine was officially established. On this day, the Verkhovna Rada passed the relevant law and shortly after, the agency’s operatives pledged allegiance to the people of Ukraine.
