Lomachenko defeats Pedraza to unify lightweight belts

Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko has defeated Jose Pedraza from Puerto Rico in a unification fight for WBA and WBO lightweight world titles, Ukrinform reports.

The bout took place at Madison Square Garden in New York. The fight lasted 12 rounds, with Lomachenko knocking down Pedraza twice in the 11th round.

Lomachenko beat Pedraza with a unanimous decision – 119-107, 117-109, 117-109.

The Ukrainian boxer failed to knock out his opponent for the first time since 2014.
