Shakhtar Donetsk signs contract with new coach

FC Shakhtar Donetsk has signed a contract with a new head coach – Portuguese Luis Castro.
The contract with the 57-year-old specialist enters into force on June 12 and is effective for two years, the press service of the Ukrainian club reported.

Castro will be the 33rd coach in the history of Shakhtar. In this post, he will replace Paulo Fonseca, who has recently moved to Italy's Roma.
Castro, the former manager at Vitoria Guimaraes, spent his entire coaching career in Portugal. He took over at Vitoria Guimaraes last summer. Under his management, the club took fifth position in the Primeira Liga in the 2018/2019 season.
