Ukraine’s U-19 national football team has sealed a strong-willed 3:2 win in a decisive match against Italy, the incumbent European Champions, in Group A of EURO 2024 to proceed to the competition’s semifinals.

That's according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

After scoring first early in the first half, Ukraine conceded two goals from their competitors before equalizing in the 54th and converting a penalty in the 75th to bring the nation the only desired result in the decisive match.

The achievement also guarantees their participation in World Cup 2025 (U-20) set to be held in Chile, Ukrinform reports.

The Ukrainian squad succeeded after failing to collect three points in either of the two other group stage matches – against Northern Ireland (the tournament’s hosts) and Norway, tying both.

Also, on matchday 3, Norway defeated Northern Ireland, 2:0.

Final standings in Group A: Italy - 6 points, Ukraine - 5, Norway - 4, Northern Ireland - 0.
