Marchenko outlines main topics of Ukraine Recovery Conference
Ukraine’s Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko told this to Ukrinform ahead of the conference.
"I have high hopes that Ukraine is once again attracting proper attention. This concerns the issue of attracting sufficient resources to the defense and security sector, and protection of critical infrastructure, including energy. The issues of ensuring the necessary level of power generation and preparations for winter will be discussed at the conference. These are key issues," the minister said.
According to Marchenko, many documents have been developed and are to be signed on the sidelines of the conference, particularly on June 11. He recalled that several had already been signed the day before, including assistance from the German bank KfW to improve the reliability of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
The minister works all day in Berlin, his schedule is very full: meetings with colleagues from Germany, the Netherlands, the IMF, the European Commission, etc.
As reported, the Ukraine Recovery Conference is taking place in Berlin on June 11-12 with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Earlier, the German side announced the signing of an agreement between the heads of the finance ministries of the two countries.
