In 2024-2027, Estonia will provide another EUR 56 million to implement projects in the Zhytomyr region.

Annely Kolk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"Estonia was one of the first countries to join the reconstruction of Ukraine amid the war two years ago. We allocated EUR 4 million in 2022, EUR 8 million in 2023, and EUR 56 million is planned for 2024-2027... Given the possibilities of our budget, we have selected the Zhytomyr region as the focus of our assistance, where we have already implemented many projects. In particular, we have built a kindergarten in Ovruch, and in collaboration with the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, we have restored a bridge in Malyn," Kolk said.

According to her, Estonia plans to implement more than 10 additional projects in the Zhytomyr region: to restore an art school in Malyn, build shelters for seven orphanages, and reconstruct a building in Ovruch to house internally displaced persons.

As Ukrinform previously reported, the First Lady, together with the team of the Olena Zelenska Foundation and an Estonian delegation, visited the Melnyk large foster family from the Donetsk region, for whom a house was built in the Zhytomyr region.
