Over UAH 800M transferred for Okhmatdyt restoration - Liashko
Ukraine’s Health Minister Viktor Liashko announced this at a briefing on July 12, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"More than 800 million has already been transferred from all partners to the accounts of charitable foundations and the Okhmatdyt charitable account, in addition to state funds. The funds will be used to eliminate the consequences of the terrorist attack. The funds will be used for the purchase of medical equipment that was damaged. Then the funds will be used to design and construct a new building. The government and state will then provide the remaining financial resources," Liashko said.
The minister noted that experts estimate that UAH 360-400 million is needed for equipment. According to him, service engineers are currently checking the surviving equipment.
"We have many inquiries that manufacturing companies and philanthropists are ready to supply medical equipment," the minister said.
In addition, Liashko noted that early next week, a company will be selected to carry out construction work to eliminate all the consequences of the terrorist attack.
"And only then will we know the cost of this restoration, the new building, and its duration," he said.
As reported, the government has allocated the first UAH 100 million to carry out urgent work to restore the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital. In addition, more than UAH 300 million has been raised through the UNITED24 platform.
