Kherson strikes deal with USAID on supply of gas piston generators
The Kherson Regional Military Administration reported this via Telegram, Ukrinform saw.
"Today, a video conference meeting was held with the participation of from of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Deputy Head of the Kherson RMA, Anton Samoilenko. The parties considered the possibility of installing additional sources of electric power in Kherson... Following the discussion, agreements were reached with USAID representatives regarding the delivery of gas piston generators to Kherson," the statement reads.
It is noted that, if the project is implemented, gas piston generators will produce electricity primarily for critical infrastructure facilities, which will allow the city to have an uninterrupted heat supply in cases of emergency or scheduled power outages.
In addition, electricity can be released into the grid for other consumers, which can reduce the deficit in the power system during peak hours.
Samoilenko thanked Diana Korsakaite, head of USAID's heat supply department, and her colleagues for the meeting, and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
As reported, Kherson region is currently subjected to Russian shelling as the invaders continue to kill and injure civilians, destroying households, targeting enterprises, as well as energy, gas, and various infrastructure facilities.
