Almost 900 war-affected medical institutions restored in Ukraine
That’s according to the press service of the Ministry of Health, Ukrinform reports.
"884 medical facilities have been restored in different regions across Ukraine. Of these, 523 have been fully restored and 361 have been partially restored. These are medical facilities in the liberated territories, as well as those that have suffered minor damage, such as broken windows, destroyed roofs, damaged facades, etc.", the statement said.
It is noted that most of the facilities have been restored in the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Chernihiv regions.
The Ministry of Health clarifies that over more than two years of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the enemy has damaged 1,642 medical facilities and destroyed 214 more. The largest losses were incurred in medical facilities in the Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Furthermore, the Russian army damaged 188 ambulances, destroyed 261 vehicles, and seized 125 more ambulances.
The Ministry of Health underscores that Russians shell medical infrastructure facilities every day, hitting hospitals, clinics, outpatient clinics and maternity hospitals, which makes it impossible to safely receive and provide the necessary medical care and puts additional pressure on the medical system.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine has received more than 1,600 sets of ammunition for medics from its partners.
