Duda speaks with China authorities of just peace in Ukraine

Polish President Andrzej Duda during his visit to China spoke with the leaders of the People's Republic of China about a "just peace in Ukraine".

This was reported by the Office of the President of Poland, Ukrinform saw.

As noted, during the negotiations with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, Polish-Chinese relations, economic issues, as well as Russian aggression against Ukraine were discussed.

During the negotiations with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Zhao Leji, Duda also raised the issue of the war in Ukraine.

"We want peace in the world. We are concerned about the war that Russia is waging in Ukraine. We hope that this will end in a just peace as soon as possible,” the Office of the President of Poland quoted Duda as saying.

On Monday, Poland’s leader will also meet with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping

As Ukrinform reported earlier, ahead of his visit to China, Duda had emphasized that in Beijing he would talk with the country’s leadership about Ukraine and bilateral economic relations, stressing that China's position is important in the context of future peace in Ukraine. According to the Polish president, the key to peace in Ukraine "to a large extent" lies in Beijing. In particular, Duda emphasized that the territory of Ukraine is of "key importance" for the Chinese "One Belt, One Road" initiative, which consists, in particular, in the expansion of the infrastructure network from China to Europe.
